1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
Customer means any individual, business, tenant, landlord, agent, or organisation requesting or receiving services from Carpet Cleaning Shoreditch.
Company, we, us, our means Carpet Cleaning Shoreditch.
Services means carpet cleaning and any additional cleaning or related services agreed between the Customer and the Company.
Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
Booking means a confirmed request by the Customer for the Company to provide Services at an agreed date, time, and location.
2. Scope of Services
The Company provides professional carpet cleaning and related services within its designated service area, including domestic and commercial properties. The specific Services to be provided will be confirmed at the time of Booking based on the Customer’s requirements, such as type and size of carpeted areas, level of soiling, and any additional treatments requested.
The Company reserves the right to decline a Booking where the Premises are unsafe, inaccessible, or unsuitable for the provision of the Services, or where the Customer’s requirements fall outside the Company’s normal service capabilities.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings may be made by the Customer through the Company’s chosen communication channels as advertised. The Customer must provide accurate information about the Premises, the areas to be cleaned, and any specific requirements or concerns.
3.2 All Bookings are subject to availability and are not confirmed until the Company has provided explicit confirmation of the agreed date, time, and estimated price.
3.3 The Company may request additional information or photographs of the areas to be cleaned in order to assess the scope of work, determine the appropriate cleaning method, and provide an accurate estimate.
3.4 Any changes to the date, time, or scope of a confirmed Booking requested by the Customer are subject to availability and must be agreed by the Company in advance. Additional charges may apply where the scope of work increases.
4. Access to the Premises
4.1 The Customer is responsible for providing safe and timely access to the Premises at the agreed time. This includes any necessary keys, access codes, parking arrangements, or entry instructions.
4.2 If the Company’s operatives are unable to gain access to the Premises at the agreed time, or if access is significantly delayed due to circumstances within the Customer’s control, the Company may treat the Booking as cancelled by the Customer and apply a cancellation charge in accordance with these Terms.
4.3 The Customer must ensure that there is adequate lighting, running water, and electricity at the Premises for the duration of the Services unless the Company has agreed to alternative arrangements in advance.
5. Customer Obligations
5.1 The Customer must ensure that all personal items, valuables, and fragile objects are safely stored away from the areas to be cleaned before the Services commence.
5.2 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that any pets are secured and kept away from the work area during the provision of the Services.
5.3 The Customer must inform the Company in advance of any existing damage, stains, defects, or special materials (such as delicate fibres or unusual carpets) that may require particular care or limit the effectiveness of cleaning.
5.4 The Customer must comply with all reasonable instructions given by the Company’s operatives for safety and for the proper performance of the Services.
6. Pricing and Estimates
6.1 Prices for the Services are based on factors such as the size and type of carpeted areas, the level of soiling, any additional treatments requested, and the location of the Premises within the Company’s service area.
6.2 Any price provided before inspection of the Premises is an estimate only. The final price may differ if the actual condition or size of the carpeted areas is not as described by the Customer or if additional work is required.
6.3 The Company will notify the Customer of any necessary price adjustments before commencing work wherever reasonably possible. If the Customer does not agree to the adjusted price, the Company may cancel the Booking, and a call-out or cancellation charge may apply.
7. Payments
7.1 Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of Booking. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due immediately upon completion of the Services.
7.2 The Company accepts payment by commonly used methods, as specified by the Company from time to time. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that funds are available and that payment can be processed at the agreed time.
7.3 For certain Bookings, especially larger commercial works or multiple Premises within the service area, the Company may require a deposit or full prepayment before the Services are carried out. Any such requirement will be communicated to the Customer at the time of Booking.
7.4 Where payment is not made on time, the Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts and to recover any reasonable costs incurred in pursuing payment.
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling
8.1 The Customer may cancel or reschedule a Booking by giving the Company reasonable notice. The minimum notice period for cancelling or rescheduling without charge will be specified by the Company at the time of Booking.
8.2 If the Customer cancels or reschedules a Booking with less than the required notice period, the Company may charge a late cancellation fee or retain any deposit paid to cover administrative and scheduling costs.
8.3 If the Company needs to cancel or reschedule a Booking due to unforeseen circumstances, it will use reasonable efforts to notify the Customer as soon as possible and offer an alternative date and time. The Company shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from such cancellation or rescheduling.
8.4 The Company reserves the right to cancel a Booking immediately where the Premises are deemed unsafe, where the Customer is abusive or threatening, or where the Company reasonably believes that continuing with the Booking would present a risk to its operatives or equipment. In such circumstances, a cancellation fee may be applied at the Company’s discretion.
9. Service Standards and Limitations
9.1 The Company will exercise reasonable skill and care in providing the Services and will use suitable cleaning methods and products for the type of carpet or material involved.
9.2 While the Company will use its best efforts to remove stains and soiling, it does not guarantee that all stains can be removed or that discoloration or wear will be fully rectified. Some stains are permanent or may reappear after treatment.
9.3 The Customer acknowledges that certain materials, pre-existing damage, or previous cleaning attempts may limit the effectiveness of the Services. The Company shall not be responsible for any deterioration that results from conditions or defects that were not reasonably apparent before the Services commenced.
9.4 Drying times may vary depending on carpet type, ventilation, and ambient conditions. The Customer is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation and for avoiding use of the carpet until it is sufficiently dry.
10. Liability
10.1 The Company will take reasonable care to avoid damage to the Premises and Customer property while providing the Services.
10.2 The Company’s liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the provision of the Services shall, to the maximum extent permitted by law, be limited to the total price paid or payable by the Customer for the relevant Booking.
10.3 The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity, whether arising in contract, tort, or otherwise.
10.4 The Company shall not be responsible for damage resulting from faulty or fragile materials, pre-existing wear or defects, inadequate installation of carpets or fittings, or failure by the Customer to follow the Company’s instructions before or after the cleaning.
10.5 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude the Company’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
11. Complaints and Claims
11.1 If the Customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they must notify the Company as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any event within a short period after completion of the work, so that the Company has an opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, remedy the issue.
11.2 The Customer must allow the Company access to the Premises to inspect any alleged damage or unsatisfactory work before any further remedial action is taken by the Customer or a third party.
11.3 Any claims for damage or loss must be supported by reasonable evidence and will be assessed by the Company in good faith. The Company may, at its discretion, offer to re-perform the Services, provide a partial refund, or make other reasonable arrangements where a valid complaint is upheld.
12. Waste and Environmental Regulations
12.1 The Company will handle waste water, used cleaning solutions, and other by-products of the Services in accordance with applicable UK waste and environmental regulations.
12.2 The Customer must not request or require the Company to dispose of waste in an unlawful manner. Where the Customer’s instructions would result in a breach of any regulation, the Company will refuse to follow such instructions and may cancel the Booking if necessary.
12.3 Any bulky waste or items to be removed from the Premises that fall outside the normal scope of carpet cleaning must be agreed in advance. Additional charges may apply and disposal will be carried out in compliance with relevant regulations.
13. Health and Safety
13.1 The Company will carry out the Services in a manner that seeks to protect the health and safety of its operatives, the Customer, and any other persons at or near the Premises.
13.2 The Customer must inform the Company of any known hazards at the Premises, including structural issues, hazardous substances, restricted access areas, or other risks that could affect the safe provision of the Services.
13.3 The Company reserves the right to suspend or cancel the Services where it reasonably believes that health and safety would be compromised.
14. Force Majeure
14.1 The Company shall not be liable for any delay in or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure is due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, power failures, transport disruptions, accidents, or public emergencies.
14.2 In such circumstances, the Company will use reasonable efforts to notify the Customer and to arrange an alternative date and time for the Services where possible.
15. Privacy and Data Protection
15.1 The Company will collect and process personal data provided by the Customer only as necessary to manage Bookings, provide the Services, and handle payments and queries, and in accordance with applicable data protection law.
15.2 The Company will not sell or disclose Customer data to third parties except where required by law or where necessary to provide the Services, such as to payment processors or subcontractors engaged by the Company.
16. Amendments to These Terms
16.1 The Company may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of the Customer’s Booking will apply to that Booking.
16.2 Updated Terms and Conditions will be made available by the Company upon request.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
17.1 These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
17.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.
18. General Provisions
18.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
18.2 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
18.3 These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Customer and the Company in relation to the provision of the Services and supersede any prior understandings or representations, whether oral or written.
By making a Booking with Carpet Cleaning Shoreditch, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
